Mr. Stokes was born in Cherry Pointe, North Carolina on January 4, 1977. Mr. Stokes moved to Boston, Massachusetts shortly after his birth and his father’s Honorable Discharge from the Marine Corps. Mr. Stokes and his family resided in Boston until they moved to Memphis, Tennessee when he began his primary education. Mr. Stokes graduated from Christian Brothers High School. Mr. Stokes then obtained an undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Tennessee, and he also studied Italian and architecture abroad in Urbino, Italy. Mr. Stokes then attended law school in Nashville at Vanderbilt University and graduated in 2006. While in law school Mr. Stokes worked and clerked for the Law Offices of James A. Flexer, Law Offices of Hiland, Mathis, & Urquhart and the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of Tennessee. After these endeavors, Mr. Stokes passed his Bar Exam on the first attempt and subsequently was admitted to practice law in the State of Tennessee in 2007. Mr. Stokes was later admitted to practice in the United States District Court for Tennessee (Eastern District) in 2009 and in the United States District Court for Tennessee (Western District) in 2010.
Mr. Stokes has worked in the legal field for over twenty years and has been a licensed attorney for over fifteen years and enjoys the practice of law and most of all enjoys being able to help clients with serious, life altering events, whether they are criminal, domestic, or business matters, because they all are serious issues that effect a person’s life.
Mr. Stokes enjoys travel, golf, football, soccer, hiking, horseback riding, scuba diving, disc golf and loves spending quality time with his family.
Mr. Stokes currently works at the Law offices of Daniel, Gaines, Owen and Stokes. The attorneys at the firm have nearly a hundred years of combined legal expertise in the legal field. Mr. Stokes concentrates his area of practice in Knox County, Sevier County, Blount County, Loudon County, Anderson County, and Grainger County; however, Mr. Stokes has had cases across the State of Tennessee from Memphis to Johnson City and takes pride in assisting his fellow Tennesseans.
Mr. Stokes has also previously worked at the law firms of Stokes & Barnette, Della-Rodolfa, Stokes and Cole and for Allen Kopet and Associates.
Mr. Stokes is a member of the American Bar Association, Tennessee Bar Association, and the Knoxville Bar Association and TACDL.
